Hey, I'm Tenneil

I live in Perth, Australia, and this is my creative outlet where I blog about beauty, my life and everything in between. I enjoy the '80s, the '90s and anything French, and some of my favourite things in life include music,  film, summer and a nice cup of tea.

The Moisturising Duo

The Moisturising Duo

No matter what your skin type is, moisturising is an essential last step, but certainly not least, in any solid skincare routine. For many years, I used the Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser, which I really loved, but you know how it is for us beauty junkies - we get a little bored and feel the need to try something new. When my last tube of the stuff ran out, I decided to do exactly that and introduce two new moisturisers into my routine - one for the morning and another for the evening. I certainly don't think you need two different moisturisers for AM and PM use, though our skin needs can definitely vary between day and night as well as season to season. I've been using these two new moisturisers for a good couple of months now and I can safely say they're doing a great job.

Morning: Origins GinZing Moisturiser

This one's been quite raved about in the beauty blogging community and from what I've tried of Origins, their products never disappoint. I was first curious to try this moisturiser as the GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream counterpart has been a favourite of mine for a good couple of years now, so when the time came to choose a moisturiser for daytime use, this was my first port of call. I've heard some people say they don't find it hydrating enough, but as someone who has fairly normal skin, this is absolutely perfect. After applying sunscreen, primer and then foundation, sometimes it can feel like a little too much on the skin, but the Origins GinZing Moisturiser is so lightweight with an almost gel-like consistency. Containing ingredients such as panax ginseng and coffee bean, and with a refreshing fruity orange scent, it really helps to wake up and perk up the skin, which is what we need for those mornings wishing we could sleep in just that little bit longer.

Evening: Aesop Primrose Facial Hydrating Cream

I've never found myself suffering from particularly dry skin, until last winter while living in Sydney where I noticed my foundation just not sitting right on my skin. This winter, I decided to amp up the hydration and this has provided my skin with the perfect moisture boost. It's thick, rich and creamy, and with a gorgeous herbal lavender aroma, it's perfect for relaxing evenings before bedtime and letting sink into the skin as I sleep. If my skin is looking a little lacklustre, I'll mix a couple of drops of the Nude ProGenius Treatment Oil in with my holy grail Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair and while I do go to bed looking like a grease ball, I wake up with it completely sunk in and the most radiant, supple skin. On its own, it works just as well to nourish the skin, containing fatty acids and essential oils such as sage, rosemary and lavender. Whilst travelling Hong Kong and China, I found I didn't really need to use this as my skin became quite uncharacteristically oily in the humidity, but I think this will be just fine in the dry Australian heat come summertime.

What moisturiser are you currently using and do you use two different ones for the mornings and evenings?
