Wishful Thinking #1: Skincare
As much as I love hauls and reading reviews on products that my favourite bloggers own, there's something so much more humbling about a wishlist. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I'm trying to make saving money more of a priority in my life, so in the meantime, I'm enjoying making wishlists and using up those products I already own, so that when the time comes, I can actually justify welcoming new ones into my life. I've never stuck with a name for my wishlist posts in the past, but in an attempt to be consistent and more organised on the blog, I've decided to here on in name them 'Wishful thinking'. I think it's quite fitting for a self-professed beauty junkie and this wishlist can only confirm that as true as it's dedicated to just skincare.
I've heard many wonderful things about the Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA+++ and as my current sunscreen is on its last legs, I'm really eager to try this one out. Protecting your skin from the sun no matter what climate you live in is very important, but as the it's particularly very harsh in Australia, I want to make sure I'm using a top of the range sunscreen. SPF 50 PA+++ (not one, but three plus signs!) sounds like serious stuff.
I currently only use one moisturiser for both the daytime and evening, but I'd really like to start branching out as I think the skin can have different needs at different times. A lovely friend of mine who works at Kit Cosmetics gave me a sample of the blogger favourite, Origins GinZing Moisturiser, and I really need the full tub in my life. It's so light and fresh smelling, which is just perfect for the day and wearing underneath makeup. Night time is all about giving my skin a hydration boost and the Aesop Primrose Facial Hydrating Cream sounds like just what I need. I can only imagine it does wonderful things for the skin as I use their Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm, which is honestly one of the most hydrating products I've ever used.
This isn't an easy product to track down (take me back to Paris, please!), but La Roche-Posay Serozinc sounds so dreamy because if it's stocked in a French pharmacy, you know it's got to be good. Plus, I just love spray on toners for those days where even cotton pads are just too much effort. Still on toners, the Origins Make A Difference Plus+ Rejuvenating Treatment Lotion is the newest addition to my wishlist. It's a hydrating lotion containing a lychee and watermelon hydra-sustain complex. Sounds good enough to eat, if you ask me! The Origins products are making quite the appearance here with my third one being Never A Dull Moment Skin Brightening Face Polisher with Fruit Enzymes. This is another product I was given a sample of and it was love at first use. It smells breathtakingly beautiful and is a really gentle manual exfoliant. Get me the full size ASAP.
I'd seen Chanel Le Weekend de Chanel pop up on Instagram and Tumblr and curious as to what exactly it was, I gave it a Google. As soon as I read the words, "may rose water", I was sold. We all know my fondness for roses. It has an incredible rating of 4.5 out of 5 on Makeup Alley and as I've never tried Chanel skincare before, I figure this will be a great place to start.
I'm about to run out of my Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm and wanting to try something different (and cheaper!), I've decided on the REN Centifolia No. 1 Purity Cleansing Balm. Again, with the roses. I'm a sucker for those flowers. I currently use a couple of REN products, which I just love, and I can't wait to try more.
