I'm not going to deny that I have no self-control when it comes to shopping. I promised myself I wouldn't buy too much when I was on holiday in Melbourne, and I also promised myself I wasn't going to spend too much here in Sydney. Neither of that has happened. Take me to a city with Topshop and I am like a kid in a candy store! I am so deprived in Perth.
I've never owned my own hair dryer before as I've always used my mum's, but since I needed my own for Sydney, I decided to invest in the GHD hair dryer. My GHD hair straightener is still going strong after about five or six years now and the hair dryer is much better for your hair than most others. There's a Hairhouse Warehouse concession at Myer's flagship store, so I was able to use my staff discount there, which is great! I also took the opportunity to buy my favourite Redken shampoo and conditioner, as I was running out. That day, they had just released the Jewel Collection of the hair dryers and I bought the gorgeous Amethyst one. My best friend bought one too a few days later and the saleslady gave us some free Paul Mitchell samples. How lovely!
I was on the hunt for a big handbag in Melbourne as I needed one big enough to fit my laptop in. When I found this Miss Shop one, I thought it was perfect. I was hoping to get my hands on the infamous Zara one, I did ask the city store, but they were all sold out and I figured my luck wouldn't be any good at the others. I do love my Miss Shop one though as it's just the right size for me, and I've now coined it my 'internship bag'. From Myer, I also bought a black knitted jumper as I saw a girl wear one tucked into a velvet skirt and it looked so good! I love how stylish Melbourners are.
I didn't do too much damage in the Melbourne Topshop store, but that was probably mostly because I must've spent a good hour or so talking to a super sweet sales assistant. My friend even actually asked if I knew her! Melbourne sales assistants are just so lovely and I had great conversations with people in General Pants Co. and Glue too. I'm absolutely in love with the clothes I got from those stores. I got my ying yang jumper and spike top on sale and I wore my Alice In The Eve stud crop top and laser cut shorts together out to dinner one night and they looked so nice!
Silly me forgot to bring a going out bag to Melbourne, so I spent the Saturday in the city looking around for one for ages! I'm really picky when it comes to accessories as I don't like gold hardware and I never buy things unless I really love it (I seem to love a lot of things!). I had a bit of a 'hallelujah' moment when I found this quilted clutch in Bardot and I also found the chain bracelet I had been after for months! I used my new Bardot bag that night and unfortunately, I got so drunk, I lost my MAC lip liner and concealer. As you can see, I replaced them both, but then I found my concealer back in the hotel! Oh well, it never hurts to have a backup!
I bought the Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer with a Myer reward card I had as I love products that brighten and lift the face. I also couldn't resist the super cute bottles of the Ciaté nail polishes. Did I need another Tiffany blue-like colour in my collection? No, but that's beside the point.
