Oh, boy, this was a messy night. I wore this outfit on a night out for my best friend's birthday back in May where we ate Chinese out at Billy Lee's and saw Flume live at Metro City with our lovely friends. Needless to say, I got insanely drunk mixing Vodka with an already pre-mixed Smirnoff drink and I had a case of the boozey blues the next day. I also had to start work at 7am, which wasn't fun! Nevertheless, it was a really great night out, though I do wish I hadn't got so drunk because I barely paid any attention to Flume while he was on stage and I love live music. His debut self-titled album he released last year is phenomenal and as I thought I'd left my rap-loving days behind back in high school, they however made a comeback upon discovering Flume's music. My favourite tracks are Sleepless and More Than You Thought, and it's amazing how popular his music has become in such a short amount of time. He's an incredibly talented young Australian DJ and the company I'm currently interning for here in Sydney are working with his other musical project, What So Not, which is so cool! I love working in social media!
I saw this top while browsing around General Pants Co. and in an attempt to buy less things, I walked away with nothing from the shop. The next day, I went back and got it. I'm so weak! But how can you resist velvet, mesh and burgundy all in the same piece of clothing?! Can you believe this top is actually a crop top?! I have such short legs, I always have to take skirts up and pants always bunch up, and now I have discovered that I also have a short torso! I guess I'm just a super tiny person. I do, however, like to wear bottoms really high-waisted as I feel it flatters by body more as it makes me appear to have longer legs, so that's probably a reason why crop tops rarely ever reveal my midriff. In a way, I don't mind as I don't like to show too much skin, so when I do find crop tops that are actually cropped on me, they reveal just the perfect amount of skin without me feeling overexposed.
My black Mink Pink skater skirt is a staple in my wardrobe as I can dress it up or down and it literally goes with everything. I love skater skirts as they flare out, making your outfit just that little bit extra girly. I kept the jewellery minimal as I was wearing my blue gunmetal YSL Arty Ring, which is so bling! I like to make it the centre of attention when I wear it, so I don't wear any other rings or bracelets with it. It's so beautiful and I'm so in love with it. To be able to say I got it in Paris makes it much more special to me too as it was my favourite thing I bought on my Europe trip.
To give me a bit of height to see Flume better on stage, I wore my Joanne Mercer wedged boots, which I got in Melbourne a couple of years ago. I love them so much more than when I initially bought them as they're so comfy and they're kind of Chelsea styled with buckles, which is such a nice detail. I love wearing boots with my Topshop Lace Trim Ankle Socks as they're so cute and girly.
