Cafe Au Lait by Topshop
I've never been much of a nude coloured nail polish kind of girl. I guess I just sort of thought it was pointless and I've always been attracted to more colourful nail polish shades. In London last year while shopping in Topshop's flagship store on Oxford St (aka Heaven), I impulsively picked up this nail polish colour (along with several others) as it was like no nude I'd ever seen before.
Skip to a good half a year since my Europe trip, I was going through my nail polish collection picking out a colour to paint my nails and I had realised I still hadn't worn Cafe Au Lait. I loved the colour, but I was never really in the mood to wear it or drawn to it because the nail polish just wasn't bold enough. Feeling guilty (I love to give love to all my nail polishes!), I decided to paint my nails with it and afterwards, funnily enough, I couldn't stop staring at them!
Perhaps it was because I wasn't used to seeing such a neutral shade painted on my nails, but this nail polish really is gorgeous. I love that it has rosy pink undertones and isn't on the brown side, which I think can wash out your nails, especially on my skin tone. It also has a really lovely subtle shimmer, which adds a whole other dimension to the colour.
I would definitely call Cafe Au Lait my perfect nude. It's not the most exciting nail polish colour, but it's sophisticated, delicate, feminine and would make a really nice nail polish to wear in those strict professional office type jobs. I love the formula and consistency of Topshop nail polishes and I'd say they're definitely on par with OPI and Essie. They don't chip easily and have an amazing colour range. For those of you who aren't into nude shades like myself, I highly suggest trying out Cafe Au Lait and if you do love your nudes, add this one to your collection!
What nail polishes have you been loving recently?
As a little side note, I reached 300 followers on Bloglovin' last week and even though it's comparatively a small number, it really means a lot to me and I just want to say thank you to all you lovely people! I'm finally going to post a room tour, which I've had planned for a long time, I just wasn't sure when to post it, but now seems like the perfect occasion. I love bedroom posts and decor, so I hope you all do too! I still have a few more posts I'd like get to get up beforehand, so it'll be a little belated, but I hope you don't mind! ♥
