I have a habit of waiting for all my new purchases to accumulate for a few months until I have one humongous haul. I like to wait until I've bought everything off my wishlist, but of course, this NEVER happens as I am forever wanting new things. Seeing as though I'm spending significantly less money these days as I'm saving and I haven't shown you any new things since September last year (crazy!), I thought I'd show you part one of my beauty haul. Keep in mind, these have all been bought from September 2012 until now, so I didn't buy this all in one go!
First off the bat are a new face powder and two highlighters. It took me three years to finally use up my MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural, so it was time to purchase a new one and there was no better time than when Myer had 10% off cosmetics. A loved product amongst many beauty enthusiasts, Mineralise Skinfinish Natural keeps my foundation in place all day and like the name suggests, keeps it looking natural. After hearing these two highlighters being raved on about, I just had to cave in and buy them for myself. Topshop's Crescent Moon gives a very natural sheen to the cheeks, whereas MAC's Mineralise Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle is a more bit noticeable, adding a warm glow.
I'm obsessed with cheek products. I'd say blush is my guilty pleasure when it comes to make up. My blush drawer is completely full now and it's so sad that I have no room for any more! As a huge fan of Marilyn Monroe (yes, I have actually seen most of her movies), I knew I just had to buy something from MAC's Marilyn Monroe Collection. I bought The Perfect Cheek blush, which is a matte finish and as a natural pink beige, gives a really natural flush to my cheeks.
Next up, lots of eye products!... And one lip product. Too Faced's Eye Shadow Insurance is my go-to eyeshadow primer as it lasts all day and doesn't crease. I've used Urban Decay's Primer Potion and it's just not as good! I am however, a big fan of their Eyelash Primer Potion, but despite that, I was still keen on trying out Dior's Maximiser Lash Plumping Serum after hearing Essie of Essie Button talk about it. I think both work equally as well. Maybelline's The Falsies mascara is quite popular and I have used this in the past. It's a pretty good mascara, though I probably wouldn't repurchase it again as I prefer others. I've never been huge into glitter, but I think subtle hints of it are really lovely, so I bought one of Miss Shop's glitter eyeliners from their new makeup range. I always use white eyeliner on my waterline to make my small eyes appear bigger, and brighter and I was curious to try Fascinating by MAC, which I'm loving. It lasts all day and there's no need to reapply. Lastly, I was looking for an orange/red lip liner to go with my Topshop lipstick in Infared and I found MAC's What A Blast! to be perfect for it.
At the end of last year, I began filling in my eyebrows for the first time. I decided to with MAC's eyeshadow in Brun (I totally copied Leanne of Thunder + Threads) and then an Anastasia brow gel to set them in place. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. I'm loving filled in eyebrows! I also got this gorgeous Urban Decay eyeshadow in Mushroom, which has quickly become one of my all time favourites. I just love using this shimmery pewter colour with Darkhorse from the Urban Decay Naked Palette on the outer crease to warm up the look a bit.
After seeing a few bloggers rave on about Topshop's lipstick in Whimsical (I just adore that name!), I decided to buy it for myself. On me, it's quite bright, so I like to blot it on my lips for a more soft look. Make sure your lips are well exfoliated before applying too! I got a bit carried away buying lip balms a few months ago. As a lover of all things French and beauty related, I bought the infamous Rêve de Miel by Nuxe. What a lovely lip balm! I love using this after exfoliating, at night or before I apply lipstick as there is no gloss. Oh, France, you can do no wrong. I'm not going to lie, I did buy Dior's Lip Glow just for the cute pink packaging. The product is gorgeous though! It's such a quick and simple lip product to apply and I love wearing this to work as I just stick to natural makeup, and this enhances your natural lip colour. As mojitos are my favourite cocktail, I couldn't pass up a mojito scented lip balm! There's a slight, oddly nice tingle when you apply this and it lasts quite a while on the lips. This is such a cool, refreshing balm.
I didn't believe a hairbrush could be so amazing, but believe the hype, people! The Tangle Teezer is like no other. Gone are the days of wide toothed combs, The Tangle Teezer is my one and only now. This Godsend product combs out knots with such ease and does not hurt at all. They come in a variety of cool colours and I just love my glittery purple one! As I couldn't justify buying one single eyeshadow online (the Urban Decay one), I decided to add another thing to my BeautyBay basket, which was a toothpaste. I love white teeth and apples, so I thought this would be a cool toothpaste to try. I actually haven't really paid attention to my teeth and I do alternate between toothpastes, so I can't say if this properly works or not, but it is a really nice product, which tastes great. I had been after a hair volumising product for a a while now and even though I have thick hair, I like to have more volume at my roots and fringe. I don't like mousse as it's crunchy and can damage your hair, so I opted for a Phyto's Phytovolume Actif Volumising Spray, which is perfect. I spray this just before I style my hair and tousle it in a bit. It works really well and you're not left with weird crunchy, dry hair!
Thank you if you read all that! Part two of my haul should be posted in a couple of days.
