When I first laid my eyes upon this nail polish colour, it was love at first sight. I wouldn't necessarily call blue a favourite colour of mine, but there are a few beautiful shades that have made its way into my stash, including this beauty. I'm especially keen on the dark shimmery hues as I love that whole spacey/night sky kind of vibe. My camera doesn't do this colour any justice whatsoever as to the naked eye, there is a slight turquoise sheen that just sets it apart from every other blue in my nail polish collection.
Coming in a pack with four other nail polishes (which aren't individually named), this nail polish comes from the Noble Spirits set by nail artist, Christina Rinaldi, and is a limited edition to The Digital Underground Collection. Also included in the mini-sized set are a gold metallic, a teal shimmer, an eggplant colour and a coral colour, which are all nice shades, though I'm not sure how much use I'd get out of them. I bought this little collection simply for the gorgeous navy shimmer colour and it was totally worth it, looking just as stunning on the nails as it did when I set my eyes on the bottle. Having never heard of The New Black until I stumbled upon the brand at the Kit Cosmetics counter at Myer, they really do have some unique colours. I've never really had a problem with particular brands chipping on me (not even Chanel) and this was no exception. The New Black are definitely on par with our favourites, Essie and OPI, though my only issue is that the majority of their nail polishes are only available as sets and not individual sale.
The New Black nail polishes are available from Kit Cosmetics, but for those of you in the Northern Hemisphere, Feel Unique and Sephora stock them. With my overgrowing nail polish collection, I can't see myself buying any more from the brand any time soon, but if I ever fall in love with a colour as much as this one, I know it's definitely worth grabbing up.
Have you ever tried The New Black nail polishes before?
