Hey, I'm Tenneil

I live in Perth, Australia, and this is my creative outlet where I blog about beauty, my life and everything in between. I enjoy the '80s, the '90s and anything French, and some of my favourite things in life include music,  film, summer and a nice cup of tea.

My MAC Palettes

My MAC Palettes

Palette 1: White Frost, Vanilla, Brulé, Dazzle Light, Shroom, Femme-Fi, Naked Lunch, All That Glitters, Kid, Patina, Woodwinked, Bronze, Brown Down and Smut
Palette 2: Club, Fashion, Satin Taupe, Beauty Marked, Style Snob, Sable, Black Tied and Carbon
Duo: Brun and Grand Entrance

When I first started getting into high end makeup, it was all about MAC. I had a whole wishlist of things I wanted to buy, most of which were eyeshadows. They seemed to offer the best quality and the best colour variety, so over the past few years, I've slowly built up a nice collection. When the new palettes were introduced, I passed it off as something I didn't need as my old palette with the black cover was just fine. However, as more bloggers were posting pictures of their new palettes, I grew to see just how pretty and shiny they were, and how much more convenient the new clear plastic top was.

In my city, there's no MAC Pro store, only counters (reason #146736453 why I need to leave!), so I bought these while I was in Sydney. I used to only have one MAC palette, but I decided to buy two and depot my single eyeshadows. I was really hesitant and scared at first as I thought that I would for sure smash them all, but somehow, I didn't! My Bronze and Satin Taupe eyeshadows are just looking a little battered from when I accidentally dropped them. I followed FleurDeForce's tutorial here, which I would highly recommend if you're wanting to depot your eyeshadows too.

As you can see, I mostly own neutral shades. A few of my favourites from my first palette include Shroom, Naked Lunch, Bronze and my newest addition, Smut, which is just gorgeous to wear in the crease. I love Naked Lunch and Bronze as an all over lid colour and I like to mix Shroom with Vanilla as a highlight. I like to wear both to tone down the shimmer of Shroom as I don't really do matte highlights. From my second palette, I love Club, Fashion, Satin Taupe and Style Snob. Club is the most beautiful dark green/brown duochrome and I'm so in love with this shade. When I wear this, I like to put Fashion in the inner third of my eyelid and it really enhances the green in Club and just looks so damn pretty. Unfortunately, Fashion and Style Snob are were limited edition, but with MAC's wonderful array of eyeshadows, I'm sure you can find something similar. Palette #2 is still looking pretty empty, but as I have a million other beauty products on my current wishlist and already owning enough eyeshadow to last me a lifetime, I'm in no rush to fill it up. There haven't been any shades I've been too keen on, anyway, but if you have recommendations worth checking out, please let me know! I'm really into matte browns at the moment. Also, if you're wondering why I've left a space in my first palette, it's because I was going to put my two black eyeshadows there, but there was only room for one and I didn't want to separate them. I've also put them at the bottom corner of my second palette because that's just where I want my darkest eyeshadows to be. I don't know, I'm just weird and OCD.

My little duo palette contains my eyebrow shade and my most used inner corner highlight shade. I wanted to have these separate from my 15 pan palettes as I use these on an almost daily basis and lugging the big ones out is just too much effort! It's also more convenient for travelling. I have an empty MAC quad palette that is reserved for travel, so I can take that and my duo whenever I'm away from home and I'm good to go!

What are some of your favourite MAC eyeshadows?
