Summer in Australia is ending in three days and while it's sad to say goodbye, I welcome autumn/winter fashion with open arms. As much as summer is my favourite season, I love winter fashion so much more. I think layers make outfits look much more interesting and complex, whereas I think your choices are a little limited during the summer, especially in Australia where it can reach over 40 degrees.
All the shops have started bringing in their autumn/winter clothing and I'm loving what I'm seeing right now, especially in Dotti. I used to shop in Dotti all the time, but for the last few months, it has been rather unexciting and I preferred Bardot over it. However, in an e-mail I received a few days ago, I fell in love with some of their most recent pieces. As soon as I saw the Peter Pan Lace Collar Top, I knew I had to have it! Unfortunately, it's sold out both in stores and on the website, but one of the salesgirls did tell me it's coming back in stock, so hopefully I can grab one soon because I just know this is going to be such a popular item. I think the Dotti Pu Leather Skirt would look so cute with the top (stockings too!) and I've been wanting to get a black leather skirt for a while now, I just haven't found the perfect one until now. I tried the size 8 on in store the other day, but they run really big, so I'll need to get a size 6 in it. I got told they were stocking more skirts too, so that's good to hear. Don't you just hate it when you really love something and they don't have your size? First world problems suck so much.
In good news, I did manage to pick up the Lady Andro Stripe Knit jumper, which I just love. It'll probably still be a while until I can start wearing it though! I think this outfit would look really cute with the Chelsea Flat Boots too, but I don't think I'll be buying those. I shouldn't be buying anything for that matter as I'm trying to save for my Japan and Europe trips later in the year. I already own a pair of flat boots and the Topshop Allegra ones, so I'm not totally yearning for them!
As for the beauty products I'd wear with this outfit, I'd probably team it with YSL's Parisienne perfume and the MAC lipstick in Jubilee. Ruby Woo would look really great too, but I am more likely to wear a nude lip than a red.
I don't think any of the Australian clothing stores could ever compete with the likes of Topshop or Urban Outfitters, but Dotti is one Aussie store that is definitely right on trend, albeit, a tad late! Everytime I walk past or go into a Dotti store, I always think to myself, 'Oh, that looks like something I saw on the Topshop website five months ago', haha. I suppose that's normal when you're on the other side of the world and have opposing seasons though.
