What's in My Bag #2
I had been looking for a nice designer bag for a while, but never found anything within a reasonable price range until just recently. I had a look for nice bags on Shopbop and was originally (and crazily!) going to save up for the Alexander Wang Rockie Duffel until a friend convinced me not to buy it. She made a very good point in saying that Alexander Wang bags are very trendy and if you're going to spend a lot of money on a bag, it's worth more to invest in a more classic design.
After doing a bit more looking around, I found the Marc by Marc Jacobs Werdie Top Handle Messenger bag in David Jones and fell in love. Shopbop sold it cheaper, but I wasn't too into the gold hardware as they didn't have the silver. I'm just not a fan of gold at all. I searched high and low online for US stores that sold it cheaper, but no luck - they were all sold out. Now, some of you may frown upon me, but in the end, I turned to eBay. Yes, eBay is full of fakes and knock-offs, but if you're smart and know your stuff, you can find genuine products. In Australia, shopping is not cheap, so there have been many times where I've turned to eBay and since doing research, I have had no problems at all.
My Marc by Marc Jacobs bag was a birthday present to myself and I'm so happy with it! At first, it was hard to adjust to a bag that is smaller than my previous one, but this also means I don't carry unnecessary things or hoard rubbish in it! At first, I thought it looked too business-like, but it's grown on me and I love it. I especially love the playful and colourful print inside.
My wallet is also Marc by Marc Jacobs from Shopbop - I'm just so drawn to his simple designs and for a designer brand, the Marc by Marc Jacobs range is reasonably priced. I used to have a coral and gold one, but it got stolen in a home robbery. In my LeSportsac Fifi Lapin cosmetic bag from Myer, I keep everyday essentials such as hand cream, lip balm, hand sanitiser, a compact mirror and Caudalie Beauty Elixir, and in my beautiful Mimco coin purse, I store my girly things, hair ties and bobby pins. My iPod with my awesome Bose earphones are an essential when I'm travelling to and from work on the bus as I love starting the day with some good tunes. I also keep my Casio watch in my bag as I'm not a huge jewellery wearer unless I'm dressing up to go out with friends, so it's easier to keep it in my bag than in my jewellery box incase I forget. I love the Strawberry Fields Tic Tacs for my sugar fix and to help me from buying sugary drinks, so I drink more water. My cute Toy Story alien keychain is from Disneyland Tokyo and the 'Keep calm and carry on' bottle opener keychain is from eBay. Lastly, I can't leave home without my trusty iPhone and Raybans! I'm a hopeless Instagram addict and with those harsh summer rays just starting, they're an everyday essential more than ever.
As much as I love my bag, I still dream of the day I'll be rich enough to afford a Chanel!
