Hey, I'm Tenneil

I live in Perth, Australia, and this is my creative outlet where I blog about beauty, my life and everything in between. I enjoy the '80s, the '90s and anything French, and some of my favourite things in life include music,  film, summer and a nice cup of tea.

Europe Photo Diary: Croatia

Europe Photo Diary: Croatia

Our last destination in Greece was Preveza for an overnight stay before heading to Tirana, Albania for another overnight stay. We didn't stay too long in these places as they were just pitstops on the way to Croatia and there isn't much to say about those places, anyway. All I can say is that I definitely won't be heading back to Albania any time soon! It's not exactly the safest or most exciting country in the world.

Croatia, on the other hand, was the complete opposite! If you're looking for the perfect chilled out European summer holiday, Croatia is the place to be. With gorgeous beaches, sunny blue skies and amazing food, it felt so unreal to be in such a beautiful country.

We arrived to our hotel in the late afternoon, which was one of the best hotels we'd stayed in! The view from it speaks for itself! We had an amazing buffet style dinner before getting ready for a night out in the town of Dubrovnik. At night, Dubrovnik is full of life with crowds of people everywhere in the limestone built city, and at the club we went to, my tour manager was able to get us free shots! After shots, we drank cocktails from sand buckets and huge straws, which was definitely fun.

Completely hungover the next day (well, same day, really), we chose to sleep in as opposed to getting up for breakfast, but a kind man working in the dining area of the hotel let us get breakfast on the go, which was so nice of him! A bacon and egg toasted sandwich had never tasted so good! Hangovers intact, we then had a walking tour in the hot, hot heat, which wasn't exactly the most pleasant thing. We had some time to ourselves to explore the city before we went on a boat to one of the islands off Dubrovnik. Before heading to the island, the boat stopped in the middle of the ocean for about an hour, so we could jump off it into the beautiful crystal blue water. I chose not to as I experienced the worst seasickness of my life, but luckily I had nausea tablets and managed to sleep my way through the majority of the boat ride there and back. Once we made it to the island, we had an absolutely amazing seafood platter lunch, which we had to rush to finish as it took ages to cook and we needed to make it back on time to the boat! I was eager to go to the beaches on the island, but our lunch didn't give us any time for that. I don't regret the amazing lunch though! Once we made it back to our hotel, we got ready for another night out, though I didn't even last one drink before I wanted to go back as I was completely worn from the previous night.

I was feeling much better the next day, which was our day trip to Split and our stay in Zadar. I don't remember much about Split, but Zadar was a really beautiful city and we got to listen to the Sea Organ by the ocean, which was lovely! We had the late afternoon to jump into the ocean from the concrete ground and then at night, we went out for drinks at this gorgeous outdoor bar where you could relax on couches and lie down on cushions. The atmosphere was so chilled out and relaxed, and the cocktails were delicious! I had the best night with my Contiki friends and it was the perfect way to end my stay in the beautiful country of Croatia.
